This year more than ever is the year to celebrate Canada Day—by taking part in the festivities commemorating
the 150th anniversary of Confederation. Join the party in Québec City and celebrate our identity and pride
in this magnificent country of ours. A variety of free activities for the whole family!

Schedule of Events

A great lineup of FREE activities and festivities will be on offer at two great Quebec City locations:
Dufferin Terrace and The Plains of Abraham. There will be activities, ceremonies, entertainment,
and performances all day long. And be sure to stick around for the nighttime fireworks display!

Inflatable games, face painting, arts and crafts, group activities, bungee trampolines, a climbing wall, photobooth, tiny tots zone (age 0 to 5), kids zone (age 6 to 12), Canada Day cake, Parks Canada and National Battlefields Commission tents, a petting zoo—and your favourite PAW Patrol characters too!

Erik and Sonny Caouette created 2Frères at the age of 28 and 26, a dream they’ve been chasing as kids. This Folk Rock band touches the heart of many French Canadians with their beautiful lyrics and catchy melody. They gained in popularity very fast by accumulating success and praise from the public. Winner of the Félix for Band of the Year at the 2014 L’ADISQ Gala and nominated 5 times, the band has made its mark.

Alex Nevsky

Starting with his first album in 2012 and up till now, songwriter Alex Nevsky keeps inspiring us with his melodious music and bewitching voice. Very popular in the French Canadian community, he won the award of Male Interpreter of the year, Album of the Year with his second album Himalaya mon amour, and Song of the Year with On leur a fait croire, at the 2014 L’ADISQ Gala.


Metric is an indie-rock-electronic band founded in Toronto. For the past few years, the band has denoted itself from the others with its original sound and their capacity to create a new style of tune to the rhythm of their synthesizers. Winner of the alternative album of the year in 2010 and 2013 at the Juno Awards, Metric keep inspiring the world of music.

Billy Talent

Since 2001, Canadian rock band Billy Talent has been known to rock the stage all around the world. In 2004, their energy and capacity to run the show brings them first place for the award of best international rock-alternative band at the ECHO Awards in Germany and best rock album at the Juno Awards in 2007 and 2009.


A restricted area for person with reduced mobility will be in place for the show presented on the Plains of Abraham.
300 places will be available for the spectators and the accompanying individuals (one attendant per person).

Plains of Abraham Museum

Experience the siege of Québec and the battles of 1759 and 1760 as if you were there. Discover many unknown impacts of the conflict in the new Order and Law section and attend an incredible immersive projection that includes original accounts of protagonists of the period. Collection of uniforms, large maps, scale models, interactive games, and period reproductions.

View many artefacts from the Park’s archeological collection classified by theme: housing, layout, work, food, communication, entertainment, clothing and appearance. The artefacts originating from archeological digs at Des Braves Park, the advanced blockhouse, Martello 2 Tower and Cove Fields bear witness to the history and people who lived there.

Discover what life was like for residents of a 17th century civilian site
(Des Braves Park) and 19th century military site (blockhouse).

Admire over one hundred new replicas of historical objects from
the New France era up to the onset of the 20th century. Authentic
creations made by elementary and high school students of the
Commission scolaire de la Beauce-Etchemin (school board).

Martello 1 Tower

Use a smart tablet to discover the history of Québec’s Martello
towers, their architecture, military engineering, and the living
conditions of the military billeted in the towers. 2D and 3D
animations, enhanced reality, video and more.
